Re: Snow out west

Thanks for the offer CG. I came home to blue birds and snow birds (juncos) today == first time for the juncos so it may snow over Thanksgiving afterall. As long as I can get my fireplace working, I won't mind at all!

Hey! What about up here?? We got walloped too. :( We figure we got about
18" of snow last night & today, measured where there would be no drifting.
**sigh** I guess it's here to stay for the season, now. :(

Hey you Manitobans! (Gerry, I'm talkin' to you!) .... you don't have to be
so generous and share your weather with us ALL the time, you know! Now it's
going to get bitterly cold tonight.... you guys are mean! :(

And Larry, in case you're wondering, most of my birds are still in hiding
waiting for the wind to finally die down some.

The winter birds out here in Manitoba seem to be doing just fine. We only got 4 to 6 inches (10-15cm) of light fluffy snow in western Manitoba. Winnipeg was hit worse and ended up with about a foot (30cm) of the fluffy white stuff. In our area the main problem was drifting snow causing low visibility (our front lawn and driveway were scoured clean by the wind). In town it was treaturous because the ground was still warm and melted the lower layers. When the plows came through the water on the road or sidewalk froze creating treaturous black ice.

We're sorry if you Ontarians don't appreciate the weather gifts that
we pass along. I guess the snow didn't get as far south as Toronto
because I haven't heard of the military being called out to clear
Toronto's streets. :-)

Gerry

PS: Temperature was -23°C (-7°F) this morning but there was little
wind. It is snowing lightly. Two friends bagged a couple of deer in
our back yard this morning. Hopefully they were the ones that have
been eating my vegie garden all summer. Recycling is good.

Hey, if you guys don't mind... please stick your heads out your doors, take a big breath and blow REALLY heard toward the South so we will get some of the white stuff! *Please Note* Don't blow SO hard that it passes us, OK? Thanks!! Jess South East North Carolina
