Help!

I just got home and saw it hopping around, it can't fly. I think it's a bluejay, it's laying in the grass. How long should I wait to let the parents come back. It's in a super busy feeding area and already Mourning Doves and the ground squirrel has been checking it out. It was looking up at the tree, maybe it fell , but I can see no nest.
