Why don't you produce this mythical skeptic, Asher? As for tarring me
with this brush you've made up out of thin air, are you aware
sovereign governments have more than once sent assassins after me
precisely because I am emotionally and physically not only willing but
plenty able to consider regime change? You're wanking if you think
there is *anything at all* that I won't consider if it is properly
presented to me. Climate change has been presented to me many times,
first as the hole in the ozone layer which never happened, then as an
imminent ice age which never happened, then as global warming, which
never happened either. All of them were plentifully lied about.

The hole in the ozone layer is and was a separate environmental
issue from climate change.  Ozone in the upper atmosphere
blocks short wavelength UV light (UVB) that is harmful to
biological organisms.  This was one reason to worry about
the decline of the ozone layer.

As I said before, if you want to talk about specific parts of the physics
you think are wrong, I'm willing to engage.

I gave you the physics that are wrong. Michael Mann's statistical
lies, followed by Keith Briffa's reiteration of those same statistical
lies, commonly known as The Hockey Stick Lie. How can "science" which
is so clearly based on a continuing lie expect to be taken seriously,
especially when its lesser proponents like you, faced with such a
monstrous dishonesty right at its core, dismiss the complaint as
untrendy and unfashionable and not exciting enough to consider? As you
do once more:

The Mann and Briffa argument is not about physics.
It's about statistical interpretation of historical temperature
data.  That is important to do correctly, but when you cite
those arguments, you are not "giving physics."

I see. When you talk about the history of global temperature it is
physics, when I say a couple of clowns, and the body in charge of
global warming for the UN, the IPCC, all lied about the global
temperature record (and by the way, you too tried to lie about it to
me) it isn't physics. Gee, there must some fine distinction about the
ownership of global temperature that escapes me.

There is a physical argument that greenhouse gases
cause a radiative forcing which increases temperature.
This is based on radiative transfer in a stratified
atmosphere.

Yes, I know. You're like a bishop saying, "Here are nine proofs that
Mary was a virgin. That proves that Jesus existed, so you must rush
off to Jerusalem and oust the Mohammedans, and ten million peasants
will follow you. I guarantee it." The links are equally missing in
your logic; you are asking me to take much more on faith than even the
good bish.

The statistical argument is about the degree to which
this is happening.

There is no statistical argument. A couple of clowns and the main
institution for which they invented global warming (and the lies) are
telling the same lies years after they were exposed, ten years after
the last mildly warm year.

The remaining arguments among
non-eccentric climate scientists

Here we go with the "consensus" lie again.

are just about how much,
not about what if.  If you want it not to happen
based on a physics argument rather than rambling about
ambiguities in the current data, you have to show why the
physical argument about radiative transfer is wrong and
an increase in CO2 will not lead to an increase in
temperature.

No, I don't. First *you* have to show that the temperature rise is
dangerous, then you have to show that CO2 rather than sunspots cause
it, then you have to show that sunspot activity on an eleven year
cycle won't in any event overwhelm whatever effect of CO2, then you
have to show that any gain will be worth the enormous cost. Then, very
likely, my great-great-great grandchildren will say, "Thanks, but your
artificial scares and panic-mongering when you didn't know shit, and
your useless models, are all the evidence we need that you're a wolf-
cryer. Piss off back to your ivory tower, will you."

The Earth has a lot of practice looking after itself. It still will
long after the last believer in "global warming" is dead.

The earth will still be here.  There might even be some
people, albeit fewer and poorer, I would guess.  People are
resilient at surviving catastrophes, and this will be a very
long, slowly developing one.

Yawn. Man is the most adaptable animal who ever evolved. I see him
having a longer run than he has already had, but only if he doesn't
start fartarsing around with planet engineering and ruining the only
planet we have with his hubris, the same way he killed tens of million
of people with the hubris of social engineering and hundreds of
millions by banning DDT to save a handful smelly eagles.

Global warming, if only it would happen, would be a wonderful thing
for agriculture and poor people, and for plants of all kinds.
