I predict it never makes it to the market or that it dies a quick
natural death in its infancy.

Are you not aware of SRM, powertap and ibike to name a few.
This product will enter into an already established market.
Some people definitely want to know about their power and pedal stroke
even if you do not.
Sales of the existing very high cost systems prove there is a viable
market.
A more relevant question would be how will it compare with the
products already on the market.
You could compare the products on the basis of accuracy, reliability,
durability, weight, ease of use or cost etc.
Generally power measurement products have been exceedingly expensive.
Most of these devices are strain gauge based and I can now buy
bathroom scales based on the same technology for NZ$20 so I think
there is room for some more cost effective versions of power meters.
I doubt that this one will be economically priced.
.... but then I guess I am just cheap.
