Why not just stop after you wrote "The same" in reply to my question
of how you'd draw the diagram?
I thought some people might be interested in the explanation of what
that is actually a graph of.
I'm fairly sure I'm not the only person who didn't get it the first
time.
Actually I did say I would draw the diagram differently in the sense
that I would draw a different diagram. I said "the same" to clarify that
the graph is not inaccurate: so if I was drawing a diagram of that
model, that is how I would draw it.
If you're not interested then you don't have to read it.
Dear Ben,
After numerous posts apparently criticising the drawing, you ended up
saying that you'd draw the graph the same way--and then you went on to
write thirteen more paragraphs about what's wrong with it.
Now you're saying that actually you'd draw a different diagram,
apparently to illustrate a point that Jobst wasn't making in a book
that it's not even clear that you're reading.
Here's Jobst's diagram, which you just described as "not inaccurate"
but have repeatedly called misleading, apparently because it lacks a
slight kink on the left inside the tiny red circle, a kink that may or
may not be demonstrable in testing or correct in theory:

I take it that your drawing is a greatly enlarged version of what you
want to see inside that tiny red circle:

Can you see why some people are puzzled?
Cheers,
