Would it work simply to get one of these:

and use it to replace the 130mm axle and spacer arrangement on a
modern Shimano freehub?
Or maybe even just a couple of narrower spacers on the freehub's
existing axle (assuming your dropouts are thick enough, or skewer nuts
hollow enough, to accomodate the extra axle length?)??
