hi, I have a shimano 600 left/front STI lever and I can't tell if it is
functional. I put a cable in there, but there are no clicks even with
tension. I got it as a dummy lever on a bike with a front/left
downtube shifter. I have now replaced it and would like to know if I
can sell it as functional.
thanks

if you're moving the lever around and the cable isn't being pulled
into the different positions, then nope it's not working.

try lubing it with a silicone spray lube. get some worked in
everywhere you can and let it soak in a bit, and help it along by
moving the lever. a lot of the time they're just gummed up. but it
could be broken, too.
