I wore out the middle ring on my Deore LX crankset, so I looked for a
replacement made with a tougher alloy. I bought a Race Face
replacement, but on closer inspection I see that the teeth on the Race
Face are offset from the Shimano's by one-half tooth. In other words,
the teeth on the RF line up with the valleys on the Shimano.
It seems to me that RF middle ring just won't work in the crankset with
Shimano big and little rings. The shifting would be terrible, yes?
Anyone agree or disagree?
Thanks,

I have used RaceFace rings on shimano cranksets for years, never had
any problems. RaceFace has always been a high quality product IMO.
