Re: The secrets of Armstrong

41, testicular cancer might be rare, but in no manner is it stable. The
numbers are constantly rising.

According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 7600 cases are
diagnosed and about 400 men die of the disease each year in the United
States. The disease is most prevalent in men between the ages of 18 and
32 and is approximately 5 times more common in Caucasians than African
Americans. Germany, Scandinavia, and New Zealand have the highest
incidence of testicular cancer and Asia and Africa have the lowest.

Also, it is likely that cancer could return, possibly to the same
testicle after treatment.

The silver lining in the cloud is that it is one of the most curable
types of cancers. -B.D

So your guess was that Lance Armstrong is the scion of the wealthy and
white?

Well, that's about as good as hinting that doping leads to testicular
cancer, given the lack of any epidemic among Lance's fellow rac ers,
many of whom have been caught by tests.

I find it fascinating that while I pointedly refrained from making ANY
guess OR hint, and simply listed the relevant facts, I am being accused
left and right of calling LA a doper.

As to the factual point above, I repeat, testicular cancer is rare,
even amongst that demographic. We should not expect an epidemic of that
sort in international class cyclists who were triathletes in the
unpoliced era because there are not enough of them.
