So who here has nightmare customers who make you want to just grab
them and shake the sense out of them?
Ahhhhh, retail.
It'd be a great business ... were it not for the customers ;-)
To be honest, I get so many more pleasureable customers who have interesting
stories to tell and are generally a joy to work with that the job is
definitely worth it.
I've *always* gone *way* out of my way to be nice to folks in the
retail/service industry ... just knowing that they deal with the
general public ... so many of whom simply abuse and infuriate.
I do, too. I went car shopping and noticed the general apathy of the
salespeople. How can a customer get excited about getting a new car/bike if
you're not excited???
If you can take somebody in that line of work ... whose day has
obviously been ruined by Joe Average ... and make them laugh out loud
... you get a wonderful sense of satisfaction (and better service!)
I'm almost there... but not quite.
Sorry you got some doozies. Glad you didn't literally throttle them.
Too much paperwork....
For the next 6 months, I'll be switching gears working at Walt Disney World
for an engineering internship. Should be interesting.
