Re: Road saddle: Fizik Aliante

anyone ride a Fizik Aliante Carbon rail saddle? My Tri-Matic Selle
saddle totally sucks after going on a short 20 mile(sometimes bumpy)
ride today. The Fizik has some good reviews so just wanted to see if
anyone here rides it. Thanks.

I have used the full carbon Aliante and the Arione Ti. Both were good,
but the Aliante was slightly better for me. I don't know that anything
will totally prevent tired *** syndrome toward the end of a metric
century on a race bike, but the Aliante was the closest thing I found.
Right now I have an Aliante Sport I picked up at a LBS for $50. I just
had to see if it was a real Aliante or a bad joke. It has a plastic
shell and manganese rails and weighs about 285g. It was surprisingly
reminiscent of the high zoot full carbon Aliante at 1/4 the price. I
liked it so much, I put it on the frankenbike I ride to work. Be
advised that the Aliante has notoriously fragile leather that is almost
impossible to keep pristine. If you buy one, make sure it has the
plastic bumper option. You will need them, but even that won't totally
protect it.
