Yep, sure is a 'difference' but what it actually means in cycling

Lost in the noise of what? Slower tires are slow enough to make me feel
bogged down, and even unable to keep up with the faster groups. I can't
wait to take them off to put faster tires on. I just got done wearing out
some Vredestein Fortezza Comps, which sucked. I felt like I stopped dead
with every major bump. The Michelin Carbons I have on there now are
light-years better.
It's true that among top of the line racing tires there's little
difference for recreational riding. I tend to choose what turn out to be
the fastest ones anyway, because they ride better, and are often very
reliable too.
Can I feel the speed difference between a Michelin Pro Race and a Carbon?
Heck no. But I can sure feel the difference between either of these and
the lousy Vredesteins, or OEM Specialized/Bontrager/whatever.
How is it you can say there's no difference, while at other times
you're extolling the virtues of tubulars? I feel no difference between
top of the line tubulars and their "open" equivalents.
