I stand by my assertion.

Well, let me be clear: I'm suspicious of the idea of meaningful teamwork
in the vast majority of pro CX races. At the very highest level, there
is a small prospect of some pacelining, but the number of races where
that actually matters appears to be small.

I deliberately chose F1 as a sport where there are, ostensibly, teams,
and where in certain cases there is teamwork, but it's hardly at all
like road racing, where most racers in most races live or die by the
strength of their team.
