Whoa.
Yeah, "whoa" is the word.
I saw the Nats jersey in the group in that photo, I think one of the
others is a Garmin-Chipotle guy who lives here, etc. etc., and so
believed the "first reports".
A subsequent message from one of my club members who started 5 minutes
later ($taggered rollout, god bless the Foundation for all they do!)
and joined the lead pack of @ 35 and hung till about 10 to go said he
showed 21.5mph average at mile 75. He said the group was well-behaved
while he was there. Maybe they totally ripped the last 15? <g>
He didn't mention digging deep into his suitcase of courage due to the
repetitive nature of the climbs but I'm sure that figured into the
deal.
One thing, hence the "fatty masters" reference: he's not fat. Not even
blocky (but still buff!) like he was during Retirement I.
