A teammate of mine, John Peckham, was run down by a drunk, with reportedly
some metha-amphetamines to liven the brew, on a quiet road at the Palo Alto/Los
Altos Hills border, last Friday. I was just at his wake yesterday. Making eye
contact with his mother was not easy.

I saw an article on this in the Palo Alto Weekly and they mentioned that the
driver got out and cracked a (24 oz.) beer and drained it after the accident. That's
seriously fucked up. Anyway, both of these incidents are tragic.
