Before he sold the brand to Trek, LeMond had a carbon bike in his lineup...
the bike shop I worked in during the early 90's sold LeMonds and we had one
of the carbon bikes there... Although I think it took forever before we ever
sold it. I think it was made by a company called Carbonframes, IIRC.

LeMond Cycles' new carbon Triomphe line of frames marks its most ambitioushis
high performance road offerings to date as well as its first all-carbon
frame developed fully in-house. Lead engineer Aaron Mock and the rest of
crew brought into play a "Min/Max" design philosophy to produce a framewith
"minimum weight but maximum output".and,

now here comes the double talk
-----
LeMond has always described himself as a "big believer in carbon fiber"
in the prime of his career, was one of the earliest top pros to adopt the
new material for his race machines.
-----
What I heard before was he was a big believer in steel. But I guess that
only was valid as long as he was selling steel bikes. Then he was a
aluminum guy, and now a carbon guy.
