Gerard was the one who fired Jiri. He mentioned this yesterday when I
talked to him on the phone.

you know, i had some issues with Jiri a couple years ago, not me
personally of course, but screw ups with cross world cup registration
for JP and stuff. But the last couple years he has been really tight,
from what they tell me, and the international events have been very
well run, and a good atmosphere, and all that.

I think he also has a hand in the U23 house stuff. So it seemed to me
he was doing a very good job of late, at least in cross, from my second
hand knowledge. Thats why I was surprised to hear that.

the timing just struck me as funny with GB and all.

Also, if one of these guys, who, I think, we are paying the salary of,
has to be let go for performance reasons, I think USAC should at least
make the removal and some PC explanation available to the paying
membership. Not saying air somebody's dirty laundry, but the
organization should be more transparent. But thats just me.
