I feel like I'm at a party talking to a vegan who raves about how
delicious the soy chocolate mousse is. At moments like that, I think
to myself, "you haven't had the real thing in quite a while, have
you?"
I remember thinking my SPD shoes were just fine, back when I wore them
every day. And I remember thinking the wheat gluten cutlets were
quite tasty.
Reminds me of the rabbi and the priest sitting together on a plane. The flight attendant brings the rabbi a kosher meal, and the priest asks, "tell me rabbi, have you ever eaten pork?" The rabbi replies, "yes, I once was at someone's house for dinner and they didn't know that I didn't eat pork, and to avoid embarrassing them I ate some ham." The priest gets a smug look on his face. The rabbi then asks the priest, "tell me father, have you ever partaken of the pleasures of the flesh?" The priest gets very red, and says, "well, uh, yes in my younger days I did some things I shouldn't have done with some of the young nuns." The rabbi replies, "sure beats the hell out of pork doesn't it?"
