The battery died in one of my bike computers... was planning to buy a
new one... printed the instructions on how to set it from the
manufacturer's website, was ready to have it going again...
... and then I realized how nice it was to not be tied to miles &
miles!, cadence, speed, average speed, match/raise/lower existing
average, etc, etc, etc...
The rides without it have been quite enjoyable!
"I'm not spinning fast enough!"
"I've only averaged --?!?"
"I'm only going ---! Faster!"
"It's only been --- miles? But I'm already tired!"
Just ride! Look at the trees, river, and wildlife!
Odometer and trip distance are helpful, especially when pacing yourself
over a few days on tour. Nothing else, including speed, matters much to
me.>
