surreal event of the day

Not hallucinogenically surreal but an odd set of events:
Riding along, a kar pulls along side and paces me. Of the two elderly male
occupants the passenger leans out and ask me if this is the way to the golf
course. We are not stopped but doing 25 kmh, him holding up traffic to pace
me and ask for directions.
[Note: this is the same narrow busy street mentioned elsethread: 'What would
you choose']
I'm a little puzzled by this odd circumstance of asking directions. What?
Am I supposed to stop so he can completely block traffic? Speed up? I ain't
that fast. Plus Guelph has at least 6 golf courses, he didn't ask where is
'Springfield' or 'Cutten Club' or 'Big Vic' GC was but 'the golf course'.
I say; 'What?!?'
'Is the golf course around here?'
There are two in the general direction we are travelling if you make the
correct turn so I answer:'Yes - '
And before I can explain that he has to make a left at the next
intersection he thanks me off they go.
I wonder if they ever made their tee time.

Further on where the road has been rebuilt with luxuriously wide bike
lanes. I am near the end of my ride and climbing a hill, head down when,
within the short space of the climb, three separate cyclists come breezily
in the opposite direction in the bike lane. I can understand newbies being
too nervous to ride with traffic in some circumstance but this lane is as
wide as a freakin kar lane fer cripes sakes! How much more do you need?
By the third Wrong Way Rider I gesture irritated at the other side of the
street. She sheepishly gives me an apologetic look as she passes me. Don't
apologize. Get on the other side of the road.
