People occasionally do something similar to me. They invariably
want to know the way to a freeway. I usually can't think of the
best way quickly because my mind is in a "biking" mode, not a
"driving" mode. So I blurt out the first thing that comes to
mind, they blast by, and then 10 seconds later I think of what I
really should have told them.
Oh, and half the time when this happens I'm going more like 25-30
mph, which is too fast for me to maintain very long, and so I can
hardly talk to them anyway.
