Unless I am 'building' something I refuse to 'cut' wood and think folks with saws for that purpose in the backcountry are foolish. I mean why cut the stuff when you can just burn it in half? I have better things to do with my time than cut wood to make a 'pretty' pile.

I guess I was taught young to make 'trapper' fires where the long pieces hang out the back side of the fire and get fed in as they burn.

And snow saws can make caves and igloos a lot easier.

Now that I totally agree with.
