Re: NGM and species sightings

Ed is so funny.

No not really.
It's depends on your measure of effect.

He's like Bob Gross.

Do you give credit to the guy (Ed, eg.) who knows how to cross post,
or the guy who multi-posts the same message to different news groups?
It's a feature placed by OS software. Some OSes handled it worse tha
others. So one would argue that you need measures like sales, and
stuff. Ed's just a lonely sad depressed newbie at it.

Dolan could see it in 11 days DW 24/28, but he wouldn't:
Only in a cross post. Which we don't do.

Yeah, he's a creature of certain habits and habitats, but has
true.
branched out after seriously altering ARBR... I've suggest
previously he's a gem, a veritable black hole of wisdom and
insight.

For gone. Kiss most of the natural world as it's known today off.

When hell freezes over, we;ll ski there, too.

I saw a meat-space Pine Marten in Ontario!
Neat-looking animal. If I weren't a ground bird, I might
want to be one. Tough to effect the style, more sly than
asubtle, perhaps.

Yeah likely media. My first pick likely came from some deep seated
Disney film or something.

wolf
International Wolf Center (whose designation?) in Ely, MN.

A fair number of wolves near me. A friend owned one.
Others work in the film industry.

Had a hawk cruising at 13K ft. Close call with the plane.
Boy was that hawk surprised!

Small plane?

172. Enough. Saved driving over, saw new terrain. Etc.

char, and other kinds
Ate much salmon.
Catch them yourself?

No.
I have never really got into it. Hate to heard reports of it going to
waste (European culture?). There are a bunch of catch and release types
but I've never been into that either.

blackberries
Blackberries in the greenbelt down the street from here.

Seattle has nice places.

AK was ok, Marbles ok, Bishop got stormed in and got only 3 hrs. sleep.
Do you want yet more Alaskan cards? Have to figure out which to send.

I have a few more from MN.

OK I will take that as a No.

We had a few really cute biologists in camp.
Now who's counting? %^)

Watson has seen some of the photos. Guys have no idea what they are missing.
Well a few do.

bear
We camped mostly on small islands and put food packs under
canoe with pots on top (alarm system). No serious bear concerns.

Oh a boat trip.

Lots of rain. No snow, 1 time hail.
Rain two nights and one day. Hot one day.

Car packed for wkend.

Had the full benefit of the Solstice for the first time (highest
on the horizon at midnight).

We had hoped for rare summer appearance and sighting of northern
lights. Tough to stay up much past 9:00 pm, though when you're
getting up at 5:30 am and canoeing 15-20 miles. Cloudy many
nights.

Clouds are a problem.
