You don't need to argue with me. You can prove me wrong just by
finding reliable sources that prove you right and posting them.
Research on the 'net is not difficult at all. Anytime anyone writes an
essay or article, or other treatise or dissertation, references are
expected and required. Any college student knows that. Just quoting
"facts" doesn't cut it at all. There are far too many presumptuous
pilots out there, full of misconceptions.
All the hard work of research, development of theories and the
proving of same, has been done for us, sometimes at great cost (such
as pilots getting killed).
In fact, the aviation law we deal with every day is based on
such hard stuff. As the old saying goes, "Every law has been written
in someone's blood." When you diss government control of aviation, you
are discarding an enormous gathering of common sense. Sort of like
jumping off the barn roof when you are 21 years old; it might be
expected of a four-year-old, but not of someone who should know
better. I have been around airplanes---flying, fixing and building
them---for 35 years now, and some of my flying friends are dead now
because they insisted on learning things the hard way
(Invulnerability) or held the belief that the law applied to other,
less intelligent people (Anti-Authority). A good exercise for students
is to have them look up the words "wisdom" and "knowledge" and
describe the differences between them.
