Class 3 medical years ago. Then gallstones (and the not merely unbearable

following December it was time for my next Class 3 exam. Reported to the
AME, his comment was - remember to watch your fat intake and here's your
medical certificate and see you in 2 years.
And after 3 years (and I'm way past that) I don't even need to report
it again.
Gallstone attack is NOT fun at OSH.
Thanks for the first-hand account. I appreciate you going through the agony
in order to provide accurate information. :-) Seriously though, glad to see
by your response (and that of others) that gallbladder surgery should not
be a problem with regard to passing a class 3 medical.
However, my question may now possibly be irrelevant. My regular (family
practice) doctor referred me to a surgeon to discuss gallbladder surgery.
After a bit of poking and prodding and discussion/questioning regarding my
symptoms and test results the surgeon believes that it would be premature
to perform the surgery. Ultrasound indicates I do have gallstones or at
least what the surgeon calls "sludge" in the gallbladder. But in his
opinion my symptoms differ enough from the typical gallstone symptoms that
surgery at this point would be curing the wrong thing. In the mean time he
has prescribed a drug that I should take if I get another attack. If the
drug works to relieve the pain, the probability that gallstones are the
cause increases. If the drug doesn't work, gallstones probably aren't the
root cause.
