Re: Preparing for the PP-ASEL written exam

I can't see the original, Robert, so forgive me for piggybacking...

To the OP: Go to www.faa.gov and click on Education and Research. You will find a link to the current test question bank. No answers...that's where ASA, Gleim, et al make their money...but you will at least become familiar with the test questions.

Good afternoon.

I want to get back on track after a five-year hiatus from my flight
training.

I have the ASA Private Pilot Test Prep book, and the AC 61-23C "Pilot's
Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge" (Rev 1997).

Is there anything else I should need to study for the written test?

Thanks

First step is to get up-to-date study material. Make sure your ASA
test prep book is current. I also recommend the DVD's available from
King, Jeppesen, etc for studying. The best way to study though is to
take all the questions in the test bank. Your study material should
include all these questions (I believe there are 800) along with
answers and explainations. Take all 800 questions and categorize them
as "easy", "medium", and "hard". Go over the medial and hard until you
know them well.
