60 knots in a CE 150/152 is too fast.

| Remember that when flying (which you're doing until you
park the airplane),
| you need to be concerned with the speed with which the
airplane is moving
| through the air. This is true whether you are in the air,
landing or
| taxiing (actually, even when you are parked, but that's a
topic for another
| time).
|
| When you have a 25 knot head wind and your airspeed
indicator is indicating
| 60 knots, how fast are you moving through the air? ... 60
knots.
|
| Because you're airspeed indicator read 60 knots, why did
you think you
| should hear a stall warning?
|
| The confusion comes from your ground speed as you get
closer to your
| landing point. Because of the head wind, your ground speed
will be
| slower. This can trick you into thinking you need to keep
your speed
| up to prevent a stall, when you may not be anywhere near
the stall
| speed in the first place.
|
| My guess is that is why you were having problems.
|
| Now - When landing in such a situation you do need to be
concerned
| about what the airplane will do should the headwind
suddenly shift
| to 0 head wind or even a tail wind. This could happen
quickly enough
| that the airplane may stall. Therefore, if the wind is
gusty, it's a
| good idea to carry a little additional speed (about 1/2 of
the amount
| of the gust) until landing.
|
| I'll stop here so you can let me know if I'm answering the
question
| you want answered.
