I'm never quite sure how I want to handle these "you might be what you seem
to be or you might not" posts so I usually just pass on them.
As for your comment and your approach to me personally;
Anyone reading posts on any newsgroup that deal with a subject as highly
specialized as flight instruction will learn soon enough whether the posts
are accurate or flawed through the natural process of filtration of the
posts both on and off the group as experts in the field comment on content
whether or not the poster is genuine or fake.
This process of filtration is the mainstay for determining accuracy or
inaccuracy of all posts made on newsgroups such as this one by any so called
"expert".
In other words, no one supplying inaccurate information and data on these
groups can survive over any protracted period of time without being
"discovered".
So my "experience" or "what I say I am" whatever the hell that means :-)
means absolutely nothing. It's the information that either survives or
perishes on Usenet. The individual survives only on valid credentials, and
these credentials show up not as self stated "accomplishments" or
"experience" but rather on the quality of the data put out here.
As for your comment that any decision on NW PILOT would be inaccurate based
only on his postings since no one had actually flown with him or knew him
personally; I simply disagree with that analysis.
As I've already said, it's quite possible to make a sound judgment based on
what someone writes and the manner in which it's written. Again, this
statement doesn't hold water because it's me making it. It will either stand
up or fail on it's merit as correct information.
Pertaining to the majority of the comment about me in your post; again, it's
not what you believe or don't believe coming from myself or Gene Whitt or
anyone else that matter. If the information is flawed, it always comes out
in the wash.
If there's one sentence I could paste in every one of the posts I have made
on this newsgroup through the years it would be the following;
"Take this information to a competent authority of your choice and verify
it's validity or inaccuracy. Then come back here and we'll toss it around
some more :-)"
