While that may work well to function within the general niceties of
society,,, for general aviation it would be a tragic mistake. If one
witnesses someone starting to do something seriously wrong on the field or
about to do something that the individual doesn't possess the skills for (or
simply shouldn't be doing); I would argue that one is honor-bound as a
fellow-pilot to SAY something and stop a tragedy/incident from taking
place - rather than worry about 'risking' embarrassing the pilot. At worst,
they'll get a bit embarrassed, but they and their passengers will LIVE
another day! Also, hopefully in the process they will learn and remember
something that will add many more safe flying days to their life as a pilot.

I, myself, if somehow I experience some kind of brain-fade or ignorance of
some major safety issue,, PLEASE 'risk' embarrassing me and say something -
I would much rather have my safety (and the safety of my passengers)
preserved at the expense of a little dent in the ego.
