Dave. This is great! I am seriously into this idea. At $5 apiece I would
take at least 20 pieces, assuming they have a pin so as to be worn on a
shirt or something. Maybe even one of those spike things with a backing.
The link by None Such User is very helpful. It has that one badge with AC
for Air Crew. I like the idea of giving a badge to my nieces that indicates
she is my "crew." Observer is good too, but if there were more people
interested in this idea and that would bring the cost down, then I would go
with the consensus.
So if we go with the Air crew or Observer wings from here
http://www.chinfo.navy.mil/navpalib/ranks/officers/breast-insignia/brstpin1.html
and take the advice of the poster to remove the anchor (good Idea) you can
see that it leaves a circle in the center of two wings.
I think if a guy as talented as the "wizard of Draws" could do the above and
put a horizontal propeller separating the words "AIR" and "CREW" I think
it would be a winner. Perhaps use the remaining circle idea to add the
effect of the propeller rotating.
any thoughts?
