A bit off topic, but it reminds me of re-entering the U.S. in a big truck
after making a delivery in Canada. The U.S. Customs Agent wants $5. When I ask
"What For?", he says "You'll get a receipt". I say,'I know I'll get a receipt,
but why am I paying the $5?" He tells me, "For the receipt!" I pay the $5, the
gate opens and I am welcomed back to my homeland with nothing more than a cash
register receipt with no explanation of what it was for. It seemed like graft
at the time and still does.
