Is there any way to capture these files?
Unfortunately, the 'Save Media As' menu item under the Windows Media
Player 9 'File' pull-down menu is grayed-out, so that's not an option.
Using IE7 on my WinXP system, I find a file named
skyking-1.wmv#0;1.000;0;0;1:2;3:2 in the 'C:\Documents and
Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files' system folder
with a size of 65,020kb. Doubtless this is the video file, but I'm
not familiar with its format.
Someone in the message thread here:
http://forum.videohelp.com/topic303277.html
says that this program works:
http://www.wmrecorder.com/demo.php
Download and install WM Recorder 12 now, and start recording your
favorite streaming audio and video clips.
This is supposed to work too:
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/CamStudio
CamStudio records all screen activity into the standard AVI (Audio
Video Interleave) format which can be played back with Windows
Media Player.
Finally, this looks promising:
http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,66145-page,1-c,audiotools/description.html
WM Downloader is a Windows Media and MP3 Stream Ripper/Grabber
(not direct sound recording program), which makes it easy to
download Windows Video, Windows Audio, SHOUTcast and Icecast
streams.
Hey. It's a start. Perhaps someone can take it from here....
