They do? I guess I'll have to go shut down my PC, cause I can't remember
the last time I shut it off. Weeks? Yep Months? Perhaps. I went away for
a week, so I shut it off to save electricity.

You should get a modern PC, an get XP on it, without other non compatible
programs. All is well, that way.
