sorry for OT, but I see some here with AOL addresses, and it might be of
similar interest like the usenet feed problem in the other thread.

Interesting. This reminds me of my situation with Supersucks
and some of the arguments I've had with people over their filters.
I argue that it's better to have loose filters at the server (if
any) and leave the filtering to the individual user. What one
person considers 'crap', another may consider 'gold'.

As a simple example, in my interst in the zany quackery that some
people believe (such as chemtrails), some of the messages get
filtered because of things like crossposts or large numbers of
complaints. This happens to be what I want to see.

There's too much of this wussy stuff going around, "Don't say
that cuz it offends me" crap. "I want someone to filter this
for me". Filter it yourself!!! Letting someone else decide amounts
to censorship.

The same goes for email. My ISP does offer email filters, but I
do not use them. I use software on my end to do the filtering
to my personal tastes. I use Thunderbird now and it's funny what
legit emails I get that it wants to mark as spam.

It looks to me like all the "lazy aol'ers" will have to learn
to take responsibility for their in-boxes themselves.

Damn....I need to get my pilot 'license' so I can start
posting more on topic stuff around here.... :)
