Granted, it is probably has a short-arc lamp and not a filament type,
but vibration will not do it any good.
It is a filament, IIRC. I agree about findng a solution to the mounting, like spanning from either side of the vent, down to an angle iron or tube, then suspend the platorm from that. At a minimum, hang it on rubber bands. <g>
Projectors also rely on the
optical system being aligned rather precisely, as there are typically
three LCD-type elements that the light projects through.
Nope. Read up on DLP technology. If you are tec minded, it would be an interesting read.
It has one light source, projected onto a chip that has millions of microscopic mirrors, which pop up at the correct time, thus sending the light packet to the optical lens and on towards the screen. The correct time is determined by when a color wheel (spinning in front of the light source) is letting through *only* the color that is to be seen in that portion of the screen.
There are web sites that explain it far better than me. Texas Instruments is a good place to start, since they are the makers of the chips.
You might also have an issue with the National Electrical Code
Without a doubt. You can not hang anything electrical on a heating duct.
