The US maps come with it...
The Canadian maps hafta be purchased separately.... :(
This data is in the public domain in the US. Our Canadian
Gov-mint , with great wisdom, decided to appoint (after a
significant winning bid) an exclusive distributor/keeper of the
digital maps of Canada.
THEY demand a large licencing fee, hence no "included"
Canadian mapping data...It's extra....
Yeah, we after the free DL..
They say here that the 1 M card should be OK, but to keep map
sizes under 400 M each. - and less, to avoid slow scrolling issues
etc. due to file size <> processor speed etc.
We are going to try the "Topo" maps now...
Terrain will be next when avbl...
We really LIKE this product... and we have (so far) been
able to talk to patient, KNOWLEDGABLE techs for our ??? "s
They seem knowledgable to the point where they must be well
trained, have an intuative database available, or use the products
themselves..
So far, so good..
