They are somewhat dangerous in my opinion as well. We did it on my snow
covered deck. Thermal burns from hot oil are especially nasty. I use leather
fire place gloves over my Nomex Air Force gloves, and also put on my Nomex
flight jacket as well. It might help just in case.
Anyway, the turkey is the best ever when deep fried!
