My kid's have done that too. It also depends on if you want to listen
too. During long flights over isolated areas of Mexico I like to be
able to hear the music myself. However, my kids often put their MP3
players in their ears under their headsets as well.
The only problem with the ear buds is that they don't mute when you
want to yell at the kids through the intercom.
