TIVO'd this some time ago, it is worth a watch if it comes on again.
Much higher quality than the usual hour long aircraft show, it
featured interviews with the prototype pilot and flight engineer, as
well as other crew members and the chief designer.
The test pilot mentioned work testing the first B-24 and XB-32 before
landing the job on the B-58 project. The lead designer had done the
B-36 Peacemaker and eventually designed the F-16!
Plenty of footage, from test flights to record breaking flights, and
all kinds of stories from the crew and designer as well as historians.
Neat stuff like the ground crews for the test program getting to be
able to tell how fast the pilots had pushed the Hustlers that day
because of the amount of paint damage and scorching from the heat.
Five stars easily as these shows go, definitely worth a look, a gold
mine of information and rare film as well as stories from the folks
that were there.
They were enthusiastic and many fliers and crew members called the
Huslter the favorite plane they ever got to work on.
