The Amazing Messerschmitt Bf 109

Come to think, she's one heck of a plane.

FIrst debut in the Spanish Civil War, around 1937. Many planes of her
generation were considered obsolete by the middle of WW2, but the 109,
who may be considered as the first of it, was improved and kept going
until the end of the war.

Then after WW2 the Spanish had ones with Hispano engines, and examples
also served in vaious air forces well into the 1950s.

Correct me if I am wrong but did Israel use some in the late 1940s -
1950s?
