But conssidering our countries present situation from now on I buy
only American. It is importantfor us all to do that. I have two Kodak
digital cameras,Good But  my skeet gun is a foreign Beretta., Shame on
me. But from now on I am an American all the way.

I know you're trying to help your fellow American but please google
"principal of comparative advantage" to understand the potential
disaster you may be advocating.

Generally trade restrictions were a if not the primary cause of both
world wars. They also made the great depression worse.

One reason the Russian Empire made an allegiance with France
(something which helped start WW1) was the fact that Russia had a
massive trade with Germany importing manufactured goods especially
machine tools. The way the Russians paid for this was with food,
especially grain, The poor German farmer couldn't compete and cried
poor. So Bismark in a rare lapse of judgment further increased trade
restrictions, damaged manufacturing and pissed of the Russians who
couldn't pay for anymore. I guess landed gentry himself he couldn't
help those 'salt of the earth farmers.'

Just like US farmers grow oodles of corn, grain and soy that isn't
needed and is rather unhealthy. All that high fructose corn syrup and
all that grain/soy fattened meat.

Resources are unevenly distributed trade gives everyone a chance. If
people don't buy a cheap Chinese or Taiwanese laptop then production
of the core lintel chips which are made in the USA (or Israel) goes
down as does sales for microsoft as does Chinese imports of ultra big
Caterpillar bulldozers or Taiwanese purchases of US weapons.

If the US stops buying Japanese cars, the Japanese can't buy
Australian Iron Ore or Coal and that means the Australians can't buy
goods from the USA.

If the US stops buying Chinese goods then more or less the same will
happen.

The problems the US have relate to the credit crisis, lack of business
prudence and proprietary, racial problems that helped drive cynical
lending practices, a dumb administration that was trapped in a
speculative property/credit bubble and I think the other one is
problems with basic educucation and a the US of cheap immigration
labor.

I was stunned to find out that Brazil was able to produce oranges and
orange juice concentrate cheaper than California not because of
cheaper labor but because illegal and legal over immigration of had so
reduced the cost of labor for fruit picking that US farms had
forgotten how to automate: the Brazilians hadn't.

Note the Japanese are suffering and note they too make their stuff in
China. The UK, which is a trading nation is also suffering.

There are reasons not to buy foreign stuff, that relates to them not
buying yours.
