Certainly JDAM (and related) is extremely effective against any 'conventional force'.
IMHO the next huge development & change will be in the UAV development and role on the small unit tactical level. Much in development ('smaller than a breadbox'). But when will each platoon have a couple of effective "eyes in the skies"?
