BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb killed four U.S. soldiers in Baghdad on
Sunday, the military said, pushing the overall American death toll in
the five-year war to at least 4,000.

I don't understand the love affair the liberal media has with
countdown on U.S. soldier deaths in Iraq.

I cringe and my heart breaks when I hear of the terrible way our young
men and women troops meet their fate in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Fucking savages. Try to bring piece to the region. Open up the
schools and get utilities up and running. And how do they treat us ?

But put the number of deaths in Iraq over the past five years in
perspective.

The following are averages of some of the ways U.S. citizens die EACH
year.

Deaths from cigarette smoking 400,000
Killed in car accidents 42,116
Killed by the common flu 20,000
Suicide 16,869
Murder 15,517
Slipping or drowning in the bathtub 350
Killed in airline crashes 120
Killed by lightning strikes 90

That's roughly 500,000 preventable deaths EACH year.

In the last 5 years that's 2.5 million preventable deaths in the U.S.

Why doesn't the media harp on those numbers ?
