Peter, the views and actions of the present government in the United
States do not always reflect the best that is America. It seems that we
vote in people that change their tunes as soon as they are sworn in. I
am sure the rest of the world is perfectly happy with everything their
"leaders" do. I think this comes about because most people don't realize
that letting a government do as it pleases, is an abdication of our
responsibilities as free people. Once the people are elected we tend to
think that they know what is best. Which isn't always the case. Whether
you talk about a MP or a Senator, they both need to be made to listen
to the people they represent and not to the profiteers and scoundrels
that surround them. And I will admit that at times it seems like the
Keystone Cops are running Washington.

True. I didn't like someone denigrating the Euros for not helping
when they were very willing to help so I spoke up. If you have a
lot of time, I can regale you with forty years of Canadain
government idiocy. (The recent discourtesy to Obama is a mild
example.)

And just to add my 2 cents to the KC-45 issue. Doe's anyone know if the
KC-45 is any safer to bail out of than a KC-135? When I was in the AF
the common belief was it was better to ride it in than try and bailout.
