As for US hiring the illegal immigrants for work "they don't want to
do"- that is only partially true due to the fact that the average
teenager lives at home far longer than 18 yrs. 30 yrs old is not
uncommon since most parents both work and average over $100k/yr with
the average house in just my area costing over $330,000. That's a
pretty good excuse to stay at home in luxury while either working P/T
or F/T,community college or state university, or doing nothing...

And secondly, there are better job opportunities with better pay for
white HS grads than the old "go to college, get a fast food job, or
join the military" options. Most white teenagers I know (my nephews
included) can easily get a $10/hr starting job here in Ca.

Problem with the illegal immigrants is a language barrier, lack of
education, criminal background, plus INS worries that keep them tied
down to illegal agriculture, unskilled manual labor or domestic work.
Of course, people will take advantage of that to pay them less than
minimum wage, allow them to avoid taxes to spend money here, and not
provide health insure for them. It is an illegal business that saves
those employers millions of dollars a year.

But most illegal immigrants send their pay back to Mexico which is the
SECOND source of income for that nation. Mexico exports 249 billion/yr
but imports 253 billion/yr, leaving a deficit of -4 billion/yr.*

I live in N California and you can't go anywhere w/o hearing
bastardized Spanish and almost all service-related entry-level jobs
taken by Mexicans. All franchises seem to run these days in California
by Russians, Mexicans, or Asians.

As of 2005, 26.8 million people living in California are of Mexican
ancestry and overall illegal Mexican immigrants in the US has reached
