While technology exchanges are well known, I'm talking about whether or not the Germans
knew what was really going on in the Pacific. Did the Germans know about Japan's defeats
as well as they were told about Japan's victories, for example (the attache not knowing the
truth about Midway, how really bad the Solomons campaign was, etc.).

As soon as Hitler declared war on the US it didn't really matter as
Germany was the one fighting the US in N Africa, the Med, in the
Atlantic, and in the air. Ultimately, it came down to daylight bombing
raids and war on the continent after D-day... into Germany territory.
Since the Japanese could not attack Russia nor send warships into the
Atlantic, what would be the German motive for keeping up with their
war in the Pacific? It certainly did not drain the US of war material
nor men to fight Germany- and THAT is what counted in the end.

The Germans maintained strong diplomatic ties, of course, but after
all the fiascos with their Axis partner Italy and their change of
sides, the Japanese did not merit strong consideration until it was
apparent that the Reich was collapsing and then, it was imperative
that all advanced Reich technology be transferred over to Japan
immediately, including uranium for Japan's atomic project in Konan.

The full extent to which the Germans provided the technology transfers
or for what ultimate intentions had they been successful... no one can
determine.

So what point is there is playing mind games with the PTO vs ETO
scenarios?
