After looking at this thread I see all this argument a waste of time.
The F-35 will do basically what we want ant do it reasonably well. We
do not need a big def policy, who are going to attack us any way? We
need more to do with peace keeping and the war against terrorism. A
Raptor is not going to help against suicide bombers.
No one in the region or the world for that matter are going to invade
us. No not even indonesia. They are too muchinvolved with us
economically and medically. Not China, similar reasons.
Indonesia has oil,China needs oil.
China invaded Nepal and Tibet for no good reason.
Australia has mineral wealth that China may want,or just because it's
there.Or just to further Communism. Recall that Japan was going to invade
Australia,during WW2.
Who then.
America, they already have. We sing, talk, and behave like them. They
say "jump" and we say "how high, sir?" So who are we defending
ourselves in such a manner from?
Aussies hardly talk like Americans. they talk more like Brits.
AUS has common interests with the US,that's why we are allies.
