Dora would be useless

It required a specially laid double railway curve to simulate traverse,
required a crew of 500 to operate and 2,500 men took 6 WEEKS
to assemble it.

Then it could fire a grand total of 4 rounds per hour , the barrel
needed replacing after firing 250 rounds.

It was another of the wunderwaffen that LOST the war for
Germany. The same resources would have equipped several
batallions with 150mm artillery pieces.

First of all, it was not a "wonder weapon" at all as Germany had a
multitude of artillery weapons of extremely large caliber. It just was
the largest cannon in the world at that time in terms of caliber, shell
fired, weight (3 million lbs), height, etc...

It was never meant as any form of "war winner" but did its limited job
very well, smashing specific Sevastapol military targets. The Germans
also had both 520mm-600mm Mortars as well as the Atlantic Wall big guns
and long-range rail guns.

If fired against southern Lebanon entire operating areas of Hezbollah
would be obliterated. Since this war is going to go on for months, the
assembly time wouldn't be a problem. Hezbollah isn't going to be
dislodged from southern Lebanon unless a ground invasion follows and we
are only in Week 1 of tit-for-tat retaliatory strikes on both sides,
however "disproportionate" the Israeli response is. BTW, HOW
disproportionate as the SAME targets are being hit every single day?
Hezbollah keeps hitting Israel with 100 rockets per day and keeping the
Israelis in bunkers all the way down to Haifa, and they even hit an
Israeli Navy corvette. All Israel has done is kill 100 Lebanese
civilians but have now lost up to 40 of their own people in the
process.
