Well, when it was decided that it was necessary to strengthen the U.S.
Army with my presence, our training consisted of eight weeks basic
infantry training, plus eight weeks advanced infantry training. So
roughly 0.3 years.

But on the other hand, that was pretty much the same army that lost
the Vietnam War, if you believe it was lost by the army rather than
the politicians.
