check engine lite on? p0471 lean code comes to mind first
the fords have many places were a vacuum leak can start and cause the poor
idle you are talking about also the coil over plugs fail alot on fords and
the use of bosch plugs are a big nono they fail easily

I have a 2005 F-150 with 100K miles. I have never chanced the PCV and
when I went to get one no one in town has one. I dont know for sure if
it's bad but the truck is running like crap! The plugs are fairly new,
the air filter has been changed recently and the fuel filter is new. A
while back it started surging at idel speeds a little bit only in
drive like going through a parking lot or backing up. Now it wont
hardly idle without stalling. I took the PCV out and really dont see
the purpose of it. I can blow through it both ways with no
restriction. Is this normal? And it rattles. If you guys can't help me
I guess Ill have to put it in the shop. Im gonna be limpin from
Christmas for awhile and dont need any more debt.
Thanks in advance.
The PCV acts like a one way valve and normal you should can blow only in
one-way.
